My learning reflection.

The most important skill that we use here is that we start to make some redactions and we write test more and more bigs, some of us don´t know how to redact a paragraph or just a sentence and this make us better. For me, this was like a review because i knew it and this was kind of boring for me to write or to saw the same things that I see when I was 10 or 12 years old, so also another kind of activities for people or guys like me that manage a good or an advanced english skills would be great.

• Which activity did you like the most?

Thanksgiving activity was funny because with an american friend I have we discuss about it and and another traditions in United States and here in Mexico and she help me with this activity.

• Which activity did you learn the most?

Thanksgiving as i said bafore because my friend introduce me to the american culture.

• Will you continue using your blog?

Maybe to redact some of my trips, adventures with my fiends, kind of that. For english speakers and all around the world some people like to read about the daily life of someone alsdo if this person have great things or adventures to tell

• Give some ideas to improve the lab activities.

Make an activity as a trip or visit a museum to make the students redact the perspective that they had from that trip also nowadays can be introduced the photography technique, students and teenagers like to take photos so this could be as a Week diary that could be a better option than a activities blig

ELASH GUIDE ANALYSIS

There are three sections, that involves the next abilities:

1.   Listening comprehension

2.   “Drafting” indirectly, and use of the language

3.   Reading comprehension and vocabulary

The largest section is the third one (duration: 45 minutes) and the smallest is the first one (25 minutes).

Naturally, the level of difficulty increase in each exercise.

Listening comprehension The student will listen a short sentence (only one time), and he have to select the point with the answer of the sentence listened.

Example:

What should I do when I finish the test?

a)    You can begin right now

b)   Give it to the teacher

c)    I’ll finish it for you

Obviusly the right answer is the point b): For this kind of excercise, we have to check that the answer has a connection with the original question; when we read the two senteces, they have to make sense.

“Drafting” indirectly, and use of the language The student has to complete the sentences (to fill the empty space) with the options below.

Example:

Myrna _____ her lunch yesterday.

a)    Forget

b)   Forgot

c)    Forgets

d)   Forgetting

The answer is b): We can know it because of the gramatical form corresponging to the pasto on the sentence. We have to use the correct verb tense, and the only option in past is b) (she forgot).

Reading comprehension and vocabulary Now you have to select the anwer of the sentence written on the top.

Example:

Why are you late? the teacher asked. The student answered, “Because______.”

a)    She is my sister

b)   I missed the bus

c)    You look very nice

d)   We really enjoy school

The correct optin is b) because it’s the only point that answer correctly the question on the top. But the most difficult exercises of the third section are those of Reading comprehension; to do it right, I have to practice at home, reading big texts, learning new and ussefull vocabulary, studying grammar and solving similar exercises that I can find in the web or in english books.

Thanksgiving.

I hearede bout that festivity that It take part not in one specific date, It could be celebrated on October or November accordind to Moon cicle.

There's non a specific reason why It's celebrated. One of the most popular legends about is the coexistence between two cultures, the English pilgrims and the native americans. 

Nowadays It's a popular tradition in all american families (even in Canada, but they celebrate in other date) , the families meet for dinner and "give thanks" for all the "blessings" throughout the year. 

Other popular custom  is one day after Thnaksgiving is Black Friday, The malls offer exaggerated discounts and an incredible quantity of people camp outside wating for be the first one for buy something.

Facts

Not to rain on our Thanksgiving Day parade, but the story of the first Thanksgiving, as most Americans have been taught it, is not exactly accurate.

The Mayflower did bring the Pilgrims to North America from Plymouth, England, in 1620, and they disembarked at what is now Plymouth, Mass., where they set up a colony. But it wasn’t until the 1830s that this event was called the first Thanksgiving.

"Compairing mexican and american Wedding tradition".

American and mexican weddings are too similar but in the main cities of each state in Mexico but if we go to rural zones or to villages, people have differents customs. In some villages in the weddings people who give a gift dance with the gift that they gave, the Godfather dance a turkey or a piece of a pig (it depends of the importance of the Godfather). In this kind of events in villages people have huge fields so they only put a biggest tent in their field and they are used to eat mole and rice and in "typical weddings" in the main cities they have another kind of food, more elaborated dishes and with 4 or 5 times of food. Also when guests come to the party, in the entry have some drinks, sweets, etc.

Similarities I see is that the bride wear a white dress and the bridegroom wear a black suit. Also at the end of the mass people through rice to the new husbands. One and unique thing that people do here in Mexico is dance "La vibora de la mar" that is a traditional "ritual" here in Mexico in every wedding or in most of them. Weddings in Mexico are more colorful, funny, etc. We have a lot of different ways to celebrate a wedding depending of the area or the village.

About the years I was learning and practicing english most of the times the pronunciation of similar words can be hard of say but it is necessarily for beginners in this language to understand and to practive the real and the good pronunciation of the words because sometimes when you interact with people who speak english better than you or that they speak it in their dalily life sometimes people would correct you and help you but other people wouldn´t help you. So let´s continue practicing your pronunciation.

We Are The Champions is one of the classic songs in all the world. For me, when I listening to this song I really feel inspired as make something great in that moment. The lyrics of the song tell us about that in this life there is not opportunities to give up, always we need to keep fighting for what we want to make in this life in anything and also that at the end of the fight we would have a great award or reward. The message is clear we don´t have the time for give up or to be losers we are here to make a difference, to make something better than this to be better than this. In a future all of us will gonna be real champions.

DREAM PLACE TO SKYDIVE

Everybody have the fear when they talk about skydiving, but I found a solutions for this problem. The experience of dive form a plane would be betteer if we do it in the place that we want to do it or the place that we think is most safe,beautiful or anything. For me, the perfect place to skydive is in a beach, in the coast, seeing the hugeness of the blue sea but no any beach I have an specific option: Cancun.

Cancun is a paradise, one of the most beautiful beaches of Mexico. Eithger way I know i am going to feel that feeling of fear, is normal for the fist time for anybody but I think the view from the sky of this place is fantastic. I prefer to do it in a beach cause we have a safety place to come down, because there are no trees, that is the worst thing I feel really scared, to get caught in a tree. Also the color of the sea because I read in a m,agazine that the color blue is using for some people to calm down. As well, when you are mad, you feel bad or that kind of negative feelings if you repeat three times the word "Blue" it would help you to make you feel better. For personal reasons color blue is my favorite, I prefer to live in a place close to the beach and close to the enviroment. I have the idea that if you want to do something do it at your time, in the place that you want, with someone or single, it does not matter, is your own decision and it is your time and your life make what you want to do.

This life is the one and unique that we have to take risks, to be happy, to faal in love and to skydive in a beach in Cancun because we do not know if we are going to be here tomorrow. We are young and we have the time and the energy to do the things that we want to do and it is necessarily to make a change and start doing crazy things because when we will be 40 or 60 years old maybe we could not doing for that time and we could regret us for that.

Valentines Day

We did not know exactly how valentines day become one of the most loved or hated dates in the year but the story of this date is interesting.
All of the stories have a similar place. Europe was the crib for this story. In the first two stories we found that Valentines day born in Rome by a guy named Valentine that fell in love with someone and he was in prison for marriaged young people. The second story tell us that Valentines day is celebrate on February 15th that was the first day of a fertility festival and dedicated to the roman god of agriculture. In the third story said that Pope Gelasius declared February 14th St. Valentine’s Day during the late 400s AD. and in ther last and fourth story said that during the Middle Ages in France and England, February 14th was known as the first day of birds’ mating season, and was known as a romantic day.

The similarity of these stories is that people celebrate it on February 14th only one was the exception. This story was "created" hundred years ago. But I think Valentines Day was created by a pair of boyfriends, groups of people that need a specialm day to celebrate that they are here to be loved or to give love in any way, a date or holiday that feels different and special as others day because on Valentines day all will be love maybe not with a boy/girlfriend but you have your family and some friends, so make this day something special and be happy.

d) Give a personal comment about the reading

Leaving home is a important topic for teenagers and parents, here in Mexico is different tham im Britain, parents sometimes do not want or allow her sons go away from home. The idea of leaving home is always a dream to all teenagers but as all the things this have a bad side. Sometimes teenagers do not know how to use his freedom and as consecuence they back home with his parents.

Teenagers do not see that side they always see freedom as make the things for their own, what they want, they do but they do not think the consecuence.

I think that if teenagers want to leave home, his or her parents would make a proof to see the lebvel of mature and how the use his freedom.
